Our recent Mozart concert at St John’s, Tisbury, drew a capacity audience of 240, including special guests such as Salisbury’s MP John Glen. It was a joyous evening with our Cherubim Chamber Choir, a 32-strong orchestra led by Andrew Taheny, and conducted by Harry Bradford and Arturo Serna, who brought the night to life alongside five brilliant soloists: Natalka Pasciznyk, Hera Protopapas, Robert Edwards, Alex Semple, and Allyn Wu.
22 Cherubim Young Musicians came from as far afield as Manchester & London – all of whom play on strings or woodwind loaned by the Trust. It was the first occasion we had been able to assemble so many into an orchestra, and they were rehearsed with great care by Harry Bradford and Arturo Serna. Solo players included Andrew Taheny in the Mozart Violin Concerto and flautists Alexia-Cristiana Pasquariello & Grace Callaghan.
The concert was divided into two halves, the first featured sacred music culminating in the Requiem; and the second half opera – including scenes from Mozart’s early opera Ascanio and his late masterpiece Don Giovanni. We’re grateful to everyone who made this weekend such a success!
