About the Event
This year’s choral weekend is by far the largest single event we have mounted, involving nearly 20 of our Cherubim Young Musicians. We’re delighted to welcome a new conductor, Harry Bradford, who was himself a Cherub before ascending the podium. After a choral scholarship at Kings Cambridge, Harry took a Masters in conducting at the RAM, became a Genesis Sixteen conducting scholar, and among his many recent accolades are a Bach Bm Mass at Cadogan Hall and chorus mastering in Sweden and at the Leipzig Gewandhaus. He is director of three London choral societies and runs his own professional choir.
The music is a mix of famous solos such as Let the bright Seraphim and exciting choruses from operas and oratorios, featuring trumpet and timpani, along with some of Handel’s instrumental music.
Choral Repertoire
Hallelujah – And the glory of the Lord (Messiah). Let their celestial concerts (Samson). O the pleasure of the plains (Acis). Let thy hand be strengthened (Coronation Anthem).
