Harry Jordan
Cello – Aitchison (Guadagnini) 2011 'Davies' with Finkel bow (Lefin)
Currently studying at Wells Cathedral School Harry Jordan is the welcome recipient of Cherubim's Aitchison cello. Harry started playing the cello relatively late, aged 7, but achieved grade 8 distinction three years later. He was awarded 1st prize at various local music festivals such as Richmond and Purley & Coulsdon and has since attended various music courses such as the National Chamber Music Course (NCMC) and Encore Music Project where he was lead cellist.
A skilled multi-instrumentalist, Harry successfully got through to the second round of the BBC Young Musician of the Year on piano in 2022 and was awarded a Music and Dance Scheme place at Wells Cathedral School having achieved a Grade 9 for GCSE Music two years early. He is now the lead cellist in the Wells symphony orchestra.
Harry commented 'In the last year my cello playing has improved dramatically and I am now playing advanced repertoire like Shostakovich Cello Concerto No.1. I would really love to play a better cello so that I can improve and see how far I can push myself musically.'
