Esmé MacBride-Stewart

Paxman M20 ‘Rothermere-Gosling’ double french horn

Now on the University of Manchester/RNCM joint course, Esme has had the opportunity to perform with the Manchester University Symphony Orchestra as well as the RNCM Wind Orchestra and the Manchester Young Sinfonia. She has also formed a wind quintet and looks forward to performing concerts in the near future. Another initiative is the ‘Bash-Through Chamber Orchestra’, to offer short sessions rehearsing an orchestral piece, providing invaluable experience for student musicians and conductors.

Esme studied horn and the piano as well as composition, analysis, and theory at City of Edinburgh Music School from 2015-2022, a government-funded specialist music school, where she performed a horn solo in the Queen’s Hall in 2019 as part of the Music School’s ‘Homecoming 2’ concert. She holds the ARSM diploma with distinction in both French horn and piano, as well as ABRSM Grade 8 theory and the AMusTCL diploma with distinction.
