Violin-bow: Benoit Rolland 'spiccato'
Alexander had his first violin lesson at the age of 4. After 6 months of playing he was invited to play at Cadogon Hall on his 5th Birthday. By the age of 6 Alexander had performed at various concert halls, including The Royal Albert Hall, St John’s Smiths Square and Wigmore Hall. He has played along with Amira Willighangen, Alma Deutscher, Nigel Kennedy, Nicola Bennedetti and Lakshmi Subramaniam. Subramaniam suggested Alexander attend The Yehudi Menuhin School where he also had piano lessons from the age of 7.
He currently studies with Simon Smith at the Wells Cathedral School where he’s about to go into year 11.
He spends most of his time reading and enjoys Lego when not on the phone to friends or playing computer games. At school, Alexander really enjoys being part of the Rugby Team and spending time with friends.
He has recently been selected as a winner in the Two Moors Young Musicians and will be performing in the festival later this year. Alexander has recently been accepted onto the Development Programme for Future Talent.
