Abigail Debenham
Bassoon: Moosmann 200 #7023
"I started learning bassoon at the start of year 9 and I have enjoyed every single lesson, rehearsal, and concert since. I love playing music with my friends and I love learning from my teachers. Choosing to play this instrument was one of the best choices in my life and I look forward to the future, where hopefully I can continue to play the bassoon and explore different repertoire, composers, and perform as part of different ensembles."
Frequently perform at Derngate Theatre, as part of the County Training Orchestra (as 1st bassoon) and the County Youth Concert Band (on piccolo) Abigail is also part of the County Flute Choir, currently playing alto flute. A multi-instrumentalist she has achieved grade 8 in flute and passed with distinction at grade 7 she is also working towards grade 5 piano and has recently started self-learning the clarinet.
She has been awarded a music scholarship for bassoon at Uppingham School for a place commencing in September 2025 and hopes that loaning this professional bassoon will help me to achieve my goals and bring me closer to my dream of joining a conservatoire.
