Violin-Bow - Robert Pierce
The bow has silver mounts and is branded Robt. Pierce under the leather protection at the frog end. Bought new by Cherubim in 2006, it is very highly rated by violinists.
Born in Ireland, Pierce was a violinist with the Dublin Radio Symphony Orchestra for 12 years. In 1984, fascinated by bow-making, Pierce retrained with various English and French bowmakers. In 1988 he set up his own workshop in Brussels making bows in the French style, and participated in ATELIER FLAGEY to promote the work of contemporary European violin and cello bowmaking. He is an active member of the International Pernambuco Conservation Initiative.
