The cello was donated in 2017 by Vanessa Mannering, who had it fully restored by Philip Brown, in memory of her sister Judith Rocke, whose cello it was. It is thought to be a 19thC English cello, possibly by George Corsby, and comes with a French 19thC Buthod bow.
