We are thrilled to introduce Shanna Fung, who has just been awarded our Pierce Violin Bow.
Shanna joined the specialist programme at Wells Cathedral School at the age of 8, where she studies violin with Simon Smith and percussion with Jayne Obradovic. She completed ABRSM Grade 8 Violin examination with distinction aged 10 in 2022. In 2023, she participated in violin masterclasses with Jennifer Pike and Suzie Collier; chamber music masterclass with Rafael Todes and was awarded a scholarship with her quartet to attend Wells Chamber Music Course.
Shanna said, “In the future, with this bow, I know I can go further in my musical journey. Hopefully, I can develop into an amazing soloist and chamber musician because it helps me project, and better express what I want to say in the repertoire I’m playing.”
