Congratulations to Toril Azzalini-Machecler, one of the current Cherubim marimba awardees, who recently reached the Percussion final of BBC Young Musician 2020. This is the second time Toril has made the section final having reached it in 2018 as well.
This year Toril performed an exciting programme including works by Cameron Sinclair, Georges Aperghis and Sibelius (arranged by Eriko Damio) and his performance was highly regarded by both the judges and the audiences watching at home for its imaginative programme, featuring both voice and theatre. If if he and his fellow semi-finalists are anything to go by, the future is looking very bright and we're proud to support it.
