Annabel Cullington-Doss

Violin - Krutz Avant 850, ‘Brodrick-Barker’

Annabel started violin lessons at the age of 3, initially learning the Suzuki method. She joined the Southampton Youth Orchestra when aged 11 as the youngest member. She received a Distinction in her Grade 8 violin aged 13, then started playing viola and received a Distinction in Grade 7 a few months later. Annabel is still a member of the Southampton Youth Orchestra, and the Southampton Youth Concert Sinfonia (which she led), she also performs with the Southampton Youth Percussion, Hampshire County Youth Orchestra, Hampshire County Chamber Orchestra, NYO inspire, Folk Active Youth Ensemble, and volunteers at Acorn - a beginner to grade 1 string group for young children. In 2020 Annabel took part in the Benedetti project in Dundee and played in the advanced orchestra alongside Nicola Benedetti. Another highlight has been participating in the Music for Youth project and performing in the Royal Albert Hall in 2018.

Annabel says “Music is so important to me. It is where I have found my passion, my best friends and myself. I spend every waking second of my free time creating music whether it’s individual practice, chamber music, orchestras, or even conducting a beginner string group for young children”
